Carlos Alberto Hildeblando Júnior (PPGE-UFES)

Volunteer Professor in Higher Education at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes), affiliated with the Department of Languages and Foreign Cultures (DLCE) and the Center for Education (CE). Currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Graduate Program in Education (PPGE/Ufes), with a scholarship from Fapes (PROFIX 12/2024). Holds a Master’s degree (2019) and a Ph.D. (2024) in Education from PPGE/Ufes, both funded by CAPES, with the doctoral research also supported by the CAPES/PRINT/PDSE Program. Earned a Ph.D. (2024) in Global Education from Coventry University (CovUni), UK, under a cotutelle agreement, with a scholarship from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

He is the co-coordinator of the research network English as a Medium of Education, Multilingualism and Virtual Exchange: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EMEVEDI), affiliated with the International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA), and a member of the CNPq research group "Education, Multilingualism, Internationalization, Technology, English" (EMITI).

His research focuses on the internationalization of higher education, with an emphasis on Internationalization at Home (IaH) and Internationalization of the Curriculum (IoC). He also investigates Virtual Exchange (VE), Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), Decolonial Theory, and the concept of Third Space. His work aims to foster critical reflection, intercultural competence, and global citizenship among pre-service and in-service language teachers through decolonial approaches to teacher education and English language teaching.

Currently, his research explores the potential of Virtual Exchange, digital technologies, and intercultural dialogue to decolonize teacher education and English language teaching.
